Description

Just as water, food . air, shelter are the basic needs of an individual, a healthy and fruitful sexual life is also important. Ayurveda emphasizes four aims of a human being (Purusharthas ) as Dharma (righteousness), Artha (wealth), Kama (sex) and Moksha (Salvation). Kama means a healthy sexual life to produce healthy offspring too.  Vajikarana (Aphrodisiac therapy) defined as a therapy for getting sexual urge and energy like a horse.

A man without a progeny is compared to a tree that doesn’t produce fruits. Vajikarana is the speciality among Ashtangas (eight branches) of Ayurveda that describes on procuring and improving sexual health both physically and mentally. This therapy provides potentiality for getting offspring and causes instantaneous sexual excitation sufficient enough to get satisfaction and enabling him to satisfy his partner. Ayurveda describes about the three sub pillars of life (Trayopastambha) – intake of proper and healthy food (Ahara), proper sleep (Nidra) and regulated sex (Brahmacharya). Sex fulfills one’s life with sense of completeness, by achieving progeny and adding the moments full of excitement and pleasure. For application of Ayurvedic guidelines about sex, the person should know his bodily characteristics and exercising capabilities before indulging in the act. Controlled sexual urge is a sign of wisdom. By controlling the mind, an individual can enjoy regulated sex. This ensures a healthy and happy life.
