May I know the present status of Ayurvedic education in India?
In India about 450+ Ayurvedic colleges/institutes affiliated with various universities are offering 5 ½ (4 ½ year main course + 1 year internship) BAMS degree course. Students after passing 10+2 exams with Science and Biology subjects can get admission to these colleges after completing the qualifying examination. Post graduation (M.D.) and research (Ph. D.) are also available in many centers, after completing under degree course.
Can I practice Ayurveda medicine after completing the course?
Legal status of prescribing Ayurveda medicine practice depends upon the existing rules of your state/country. However you may utilize or advise any body to keep himself or herself healthy by following principles of Ayurveda.
