Ayurveda is a science which describes various ways to attain and preserve good health apart from cure of diseases. Ayurveda defines health as a state of physical, mental and spiritual balance. Ayurveda advises Rasayana therapy in the context of preserving good health and longevity. It is one among Ashtangas (eight branches) of Ayurveda which deals with ways to attain positive health of body and mind, prevents aging and diseases and promote longevity. It includes dietary and lifestyle measures along with remedies to rejuvenate bodily tissues. In present era, lifestyle is very much responsible for imbalance of Doshas (vata, pitta, kapha) and Dhatus (body tissues) and decreasing longevity, thus need of Rasayan therapy becomes essential to increase the essence of each Dhatu, balance of Doshas and to promote long life.
